Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.
The Family Violence Unit consists of two grant subsidized staff and volunteers. The FVU assists Belton, Temple and Killeen Police departments and has a 24-hour hotline. FVU aids individuals with crime victims’ compensation packets, pro se protective orders, court accompaniment, danger assessments, community resource referrals, support group.
The Education Department consists of one paid staff member Education Program, In 2016, the Education program served 2, 057 individuals with Parenting and Anger management classes. The agency has revamped curriculum to include,
Teen Anger Management Education (TAME)
Teen Anger Management Education is an educational framework for effective anger management and conflict resolution skills for adolescents (ages 13-17 years). To assist adolescents to identify, address and process issues that have led to ineffective behavioral coping skills.

CAPP Violence Intervention Program Turning Point- Women Who Abuse Evidence Based Curriculum. Partnership with Bell/Lampasas CSCD to provide education for offenders onsite at Killeen Unit.
The Parent Aide Program consists of trained, professionally supervised individuals (volunteer or paid) who provide supportive and educational in-home services to families at risk of child abuse and neglect with children 0-12. Services are strength-based and family-centered.
Family violence is a pattern of behavior where one person tries to gain power and control over another through fear and intimidation. This can take the form of threatening or actually using physical violence. Abuse can also be emotional, verbal, economic, or sexual.
Family violence happens to men and women of all racial, economic, and religious backgrounds.

AWARE CENTRAL TEXAS, formerly known as Family Outreach of Bell County, is a 501 C Non-profit organization, started in 1986 as the volunteer arm of Child Protective Services.
