F.A.Q.

Who is this app/service for?

For people who are more comfortable with text messaging- festival goers, volunteers, and anybody else who wants to be in the loop during the festival. This service/feature is intended for people with cellphones that can receive and send sms or text messages.

How much does this cost?

The service is free. However phone carrier charges may apply if you do not have a “text messaging” plan in your wireless contract.

How many text messages should I expect?

At least two for event reminder and announcement and up to 10 depending on the things happening at the festival. However, you are welcome to reply or ask question during the event.

What kind of texts would I receive if I sign up?

You will receive only important and urgent event announcements and /or updates including:

event reminder

if applicable,

important last-minute changes, if any (vendor location)

winners of the CAP Decorating contest, auction, and raffle/drawings.

unplanned special performances (breakdancing, flash mobs, etc)

tips (alternate parking, restroom locations, etc)

Will AWARE be able to see my phone number?

No. Your phone numbers are kept private; we cannot see your phone number, just the name that you entered when you signed up. The phone number is stored in a secure database and is automatically deleted after event expires (June 12th).

Will other festival-goers be able to contact me?

No. You will only be able to communicate with the event coordinator and nobody else. This is not a group chatting.
